Marriage is the process
by which two people make their relationship public, official, and permanent. It
is the joining of two people in a bond that putatively lasts until death, but
in practice is increasingly cut short by divorce. Over the course of a relationship
that can last as many as seven or eight decades, a lot happens. Personalities
change, bodies age, and romantic love waxes and wanes. And no marriage is free
of conflict. What enables a couple to endure is how they handle that conflict.
So how do you manage the problems that inevitably arise? And how can you keep
the spark alive?
Keeping your wife happy
is the secret to a happy life, and if you want to do it, you have to work on
your communication skills, keep your romance alive, and understand your woman's
needs. If you want to know how to keep your wife happy, just follow these
steps.
Introduce
her with a compliment
Saying something like
"I'd like you to meet my beautiful wife," or "Here's my better
half" goes farther than you may realize. Publicly recognizing her as your
cherished partner validates that you love her.
Surprise
her
Randomly buy flowers,
take her to a swanky restaurant, buy her a random present or otherwise treat
her to something nice. It needn't be expensive, though an occasional splash
will go a long way.
Keeping
the Romance Alive
No matter how busy you
may be, you should always make time for a date night with your wife, ideally
once a week or at least twice a month. If you spend all of your precious time
together hanging out with friends or just lounging around the house, then
you'll forget that spark that makes your relationship so special.
Stay
honest and open
Honest communication is
the key to any long and stable relationship. If you want to keep your wife
happy, then you should always share your feelings and be happy to listen to
what she has to say. You should feel comfortable sharing your feelings with
your wife and being open about your thoughts, even if you have a hard time
expressing them.
Help
her with the little things
A lot of husbands
forget this because the tasks you engage in with chivalry when you’re dating,
don’t necessarily exist in marriage.
Focus
on her needs first
Always ask what she
wants to eat for dinner rather than suggesting my own preference.
Protect
her
I know things have
changed and women should be treated equally as men. But, there is still
something about a husband standing up for her woman. Make her feel safe. Let
her know that you are here for her if she ever has a conflict. If she is really
nervous about something, be there for her and let her know it will all be okay.
