Oily skin is the result of the overproduction of sebum from sebaceous glands. These glands are located under the skin’s surface. Oily skin can be a pain to deal. The accumulation of excess oil on the outer skin layer often leads to whiteheads, blackheads, blind pimples and other skin irritations.
Oily skin deserves proper care if you want to look beautiful.
Multani Mitti
Multani Mitti is the best face pack for people with oily skin. The magnesium chloride present in it drags out the dirt and oil present in the skin pores which prevents acne and blackheads.
Aloe vera
Oily skin is more vulnerable to breakouts, acne, and pimple for it tends to produce excessive oil on the surface. To get rid of this excessive oily skin problem, use aloe vera gel or aloe vera extract which will help absorb the oil and treats your acne, pimple, zits, and blemishes.
Wash your face twice a day
Wash with a gentle face cleanser. This will remove the excess oil that's clogging your pores. Dermatologists agree that using a basic face cleanser every morning and night is the best way to prevent oily skin.
Choose a gentle face soap that cleans your face without drying out your skin. Don't use a moisturizing soap that adds oils or moisturizers to your face.
Use a toner free of alcohol or acetone
Place a few drops on a clean, natural cotton pad and wipe it gently over the affected area. Toners can be harsh on skin, so dermatologists often recommend only using them on oily parts of your face rather than the whole face.
Exfoliate your skin
Squeeze a pea-sized amount of face polish onto your fingers and rub them together. Place your fingers on your skin and gently rub the polish into your skin using a circular motion. If you're exfoliating your face, the process should take a minute or two.
Alternative your actives
Overusing powerful ingredients on any skin type can lead to irritation. But on oily skin, that irritation manifests itself as more oily (lose, lose!). Stick to one active a night. That means if you use a chemical exfoliator with a low concentration of acids or enzymes, which you should, use it only on the nights you're not using your retinoid product.
Apple Cider Vinegar Spray
Mix equal parts of vinegar with water in a small spray bottle and use it as a toner. Spray the mixture directly on your face. It is an effective toner remedy for oily skin.
Egg Whites
High in vitamin A, egg whites can effectively dry out skin blemishes as well as tone and tighten up oily skin. Whip one egg white until stiff and spread it on your skin. Allow it to dry and then wash it off with warm water. Do this twice a week.
Blotting papers
These thin, small papers won’t prevent your sebaceous glands from going into overdrive, but they’ll allow you to blot excess oil from your face to help minimize shiny, greasy skin. Blotting papers are inexpensive and available over the counter. Use as needed throughout the day.
